If a number here is wrong, the fastest way to get it fixed is to tell us where you saw the right one. Evidence moves a correction through in one step; an opinion cannot.
Discord
The community server is where corrections, event questions and the day-to-day conversation happen, and where you will get an answer quickest. It is also where the people who actually play are, which matters more than it sounds: nobody building this site plays Whiteout Survival, so a chief who can read a number off a live screen is genuinely the strongest evidence there is.
The server is not open yet. It is built in a later phase of this project, and the invite will be published here on the day it exists. Until then, the form below is the whole of it, and saying so is better than posting a link that goes nowhere.
Spot an error
Use the correction form for anything factual: a value that does not match what you see in game, a page that describes an event that has since changed, a source we have cited that has been updated or taken down, or a piece of writing here that uses the wrong game's words. That last one matters more than it looks — Whiteout Survival has states and chiefs, and a great deal of what is written about this game online was produced by sources that could not keep it distinct from another title. If you catch that here, it is a real bug and we want it.
The form is not live yet. It goes up with the corrections loop in a later phase, and it will appear at this spot rather than somewhere else. There is no email address on this page, and there will not be one: a published address collects spam faster than it collects corrections, and it gives a reader no way to see that their report was acted on.
What a useful correction contains
- The page and the valueWhich page, and what it currently says. A screenshot of our page is not needed; the page address is enough.
- What it should say, and where that comes fromA link to the publisher's page, or a screenshot from the live game, or the name of an independent site that states it. "That is wrong" without a source cannot be checked, so it cannot be published, so nothing changes.
- When you saw itEvents change between updates. A reading with a date on it can be weighed against ours; one without a date cannot be weighed at all.
What happens next
A correction with evidence goes through the same gate as anything else on this site. If your source is the publisher, or if it is an independent site and it agrees with a second independent site, the value changes. If it is a single independent site and the publisher says something different, the fact becomes a disagreement and both readings are shown — which is not us dodging the question, it is the only truthful thing to publish when two sources of record contradict each other. If your source is a forum post, it becomes a lead, and it tells us exactly where to go and look.
Either way, what changed and why is kept. A reference that quietly edits itself is a reference you cannot check, and the whole point of the method is that you can check it.
Everything else
For anything that is not a correction — a question about how the site works, a note about a source we should be reading, or a problem with the site itself — the same routes apply, and the form is the one to use once it is up. This is a small project and it answers to the people who use it.
