Privacy

This site sets no cookies, runs no advertising, has no accounts, and stores nothing that identifies you. This page describes the one measurement it does take, and what the hosting underneath it sees whether we want it to or not.

The one thing we count

When a page here loads, the browser sends a single small message to our own counter recording which page was opened and, if the browser supplied one, which site linked you here. That message carries no cookie, no advertising identifier, no device fingerprint and no account, because there are none of those things on this site to carry.

What is kept from that message is deliberately less than what is sent. The counter stores a page address and a running total for that address on that calendar day, and nothing else. It does not store your network address. It does not store the referring site. It does not store a timestamp finer than the day, and it does not store one record per visit — the total for a page on a day is a single number that goes up by one. There is no row anywhere that corresponds to you, so there is nothing to look up, correlate or hand over, and nothing that could be reconstructed into a visit history if somebody tried.

The reason to count at all is that this project retires pages nobody reads. A page with no readers after two months is taken down rather than left to sit there making the site look larger than it is. That decision needs a number, and this is the smallest number that can make it.

What the hosting sees

This site is served by Cloudflare, and a request has to reach a server before anything can answer it. That means Cloudflare's network necessarily processes your network address and the usual request headers in order to deliver the page and to absorb attacks, exactly as any host would. That processing is theirs and is governed by their terms, not by this page. We do not receive those logs, we do not enable analytics on them, and we have not turned on any feature that would join them to anything else.

We mention it because a privacy page that says "we collect nothing" while sitting on a network that necessarily sees every request is telling a comfortable half-truth, and this site is supposed to be the kind that does not.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no advertising codeThere are no ad slots, no tag manager, no advertising identifier file, and no third-party script of any kind loaded by these pages. Should that ever change, this page changes first and says so plainly.
• No third-party analyticsThe counter described above is our own and it runs on our own domain. No data about your visit is sent to an analytics company.
• No accounts, no email collectionThere is nothing to sign up for. No address on this site collects an email address, and none is published for you to write to.
• No selling or sharingThere is nothing to sell. The only stored figure is a count of how many times a page was opened on a given day.

Children

This is a reference site about a video game, written for adults who lead alliances in it. It is not directed at children, and since it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Your rights, and the honest limit on them

Data protection law gives you rights over personal data a site holds about you — to see it, to correct it, to have it erased. Those rights are real and we take them seriously. The limit here is practical rather than legal: we hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to produce, and no way for us to identify which of a page's counted opens was yours. If you believe that is wrong, tell us and we will look, and if we are wrong we will say so on this page.

Changes to this page

If what this site collects ever changes, this page is updated on the same day and the change is recorded. A privacy page that is quietly rewritten is worse than none, because it invites you to trust a version that no longer applies.
